My $300k TikTok Ads Scaling Strategy

If you're looking to boost your e-commerce store's revenue, TikTok ads could be your solution. In this article, we'll show you how to use TikTok to scale your online store's revenue from $30k to over $100k per month, using ad creatives with a high Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) of 4.62. Let's dive in!

Step 1: Create Compelling Ad Creatives

TikTok only cares about one thing when it comes to your ads, and that is the ad creative itself. So, to help you create compelling ad creatives that can go viral, we highly recommend watching this video on our YouTube channel, which is linked below. This will help you create engaging ad creatives that catch your audience's attention and drive sales.

Step 2: Set Up Your Ad Account

Assuming you've got your ad creative down, the next step is to ensure your ad account is set up correctly to give you the best chance of running smoothly. To do this, download the TikTok app from the Shopify app store and follow the prompts to set up your ads manager account, add a payment method, and select your targeting locations. Don't forget to select "maximum" in the data sharing area to hook up your TikTok pixel and collect the most data possible. This will be essential later on when you want to track your ROAS.

Step 3: Link Your TikTok Profile With Your Ad Account

Now that your ad account is set up, it's time to start launching your TikTok campaigns. But before you create your first campaign, make sure to link your TikTok profile to your ad account. This will allow you to select your best ad creative that already has social proof and engagement, both of which are crucial for making profitable campaigns.

Step 4: Know Your ROAS

Before you start spending money on your ads, it's important to know your ROAS, which stands for Return on Ad Spend. This will tell you how much you're putting into the ad platform and how much you're getting back. To calculate your projected ROAS, take your product's cost and selling price and plug them into this simple sheet. This will help you determine the metrics you need to look for in your ad campaigns to know whether you're profitable or not.

Step 5: Ad Campaign Setup

To get started with your ad campaign, we recommend using custom mode instead of simplified mode. Once you're in custom mode, you can go straight for web conversions. Since you have an ad that you know converts and has social proof from your regular TikTok account, you should be confident in going for purchases.

To begin, title your campaign "purchases" and select your TikTok pixel. If you haven't set up a pixel yet, you can do that in your Shopify store. After selecting your pixel, choose placements, and unselect everything except for the ones you want to use. Then, select the optimization event, which should be "complete payment." This will help increase the number of purchases. Scroll down, and leave automated creative optimization unchecked. Then, go into custom targeting.

Step 6: Target Your Audience

For targeting, select your area and the language you prefer. If your product is for a specific gender, you can select either males or females. For audiences, we recommend targeting people over 25 years old since they are more likely to make purchases (This can change according to your product). If you want to include household income, you can do that, but we suggest leaving it broad for wider audiences. For audience interests, choose “purchase intention” and select general audiences related to your product. TikTok prefers working with broad audiences, so aim for at least 80 million and above.

Step 7: Set Your Budget

Finally, set your budget for your campaign. Choose between a daily or lifetime budget, depending on your preference. Start with a small budget to test the waters and see how your ad performs. If you see positive results, you can increase your budget accordingly.

In conclusion, by following these steps and creating compelling ad creatives, targeting the right audience, and setting an appropriate budget, you can increase your chances of running successful TikTok ad campaigns. Remember to calculate your ROAS and monitor your ad performance to ensure that you’re getting the most out of your ad spend.
